International student at Egå Ungdoms-Højskole – Denmark

If you are between 16 1/2 and 19 years old, it is possible to apply for a school stay at Egå Ungdoms-Højskole. (You must be 16 years and 6 months and not 19 years old, on the day the course starts).
Egå Ungdoms-Højskole is a Danish Folk High School, and we mostly teach subjects like; Film, Photography, Theatre/Musical, Musik/Choire, Design, Art, and Outdoor living. You are able to work with just the things that interest you, and you are not bound by examines.
As an international student you will get instructions in English, and you will learn some basic Danish, and learn about Danish Culture and History.
It is important for us, that you know what kind of school we are, and that your English knowledge is good, and you are not afraid of speaking it. You don’t need to have fantastic marks at school, but you must be open-minded and interested in being a student at Egå Ungdoms-Højskole. We have room for about 10 - 12 international students.

Scholarship
If you would like to apply for a scholarship at Egå Ungdoms-Højskole, you must be a citizen in one of the new EU-countries: Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia.
A Scholarship is financed by means from the Cirius Foundation (supported by the Danish State), and by means from Egå Ungdoms-Højskole’s special fund. (You can read about the Cirius Foundation at the site www.cirius-online.dk)

You can apply for a scholarshop for only one course (Autumn term; 19 weeks or Spring term; 25 weeks)

Scholarship at Egå Ungdoms-Højskole; A Scholarship includes boarding, lodging, material expenses and teaching as well as a journey abroad. You have to pay pocket money and your own travel expenses from your home to Denmark and return. (See further at "Information - Economy")

We have no more vacant scholarships for the Spring term 2010, but you can still apply for a scholarship at Autumn term 2010.

Application for International students:
If you want to apply for a School Stay, you need to fill in the application form and mail it to us by e-mail or send it by ordinary mail. We have to receive the applications form with yours (and if you are below 18 years old also with your parents’) signatures together with a copy of your passport or international ID Cart.
